About

About Lafzaly

Lafzaly helps Pakistani creators write captions and subtitles in the Roman Urdu they actually speak and type.

Why we built it

Most captioning tools are designed around English. Roman Urdu, mixed Urdu-English speech and Pakistani phrasing are usually an afterthought, so creators end up retyping subtitles by hand or fixing garbled automatic captions. Lafzaly exists to make that first draft fast and good enough to edit, not to replace the creator's own voice.

What it does

How it works

Speech is transcribed with an automatic speech-recognition model (OpenAI's Whisper, run through Groq's API). A large language model then rewrites the transcript into conversational Roman Urdu while keeping English words in English. Timings come from the speech recogniser, so the rewrite step does not change when lines appear.
